We collect as little data as possible:

• Newsletter: email address and topic preferences. Only after double opt-in.
• Server logs: IP address, browser type, access time.
• Local settings: language choice (cookie) plus theme and terminology mode (localStorage). No tracking, no analytics cookies.

5. Newsletter & Double Opt-In

When you sign up for our newsletter, your email address is transmitted to our newsletter service Buttondown (Buttondown, LLC, USA). Buttondown stores your email address and the topic preferences you have selected. You will first receive a confirmation email (Double Opt-In). Your subscription only becomes active after you click the link in that email. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. Note: Buttondown is based in the USA. The data transfer is based on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with the Swiss addendum pursuant to Art. 16 revFADP. A data processing agreement is in place with Buttondown.

6. Cookies & local storage

This website uses no tracking or analytics cookies and therefore shows no cookie banner. Only functional settings are stored: your language choice as a cookie, plus the theme (light/dark) and terminology mode in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.

7. Hosting

Hosting is provided by a provider based in Switzerland. A data processing agreement is in place with the provider. No data is transferred abroad.
